Special “Heisei Gourmet Buffet” to commemorate the end of Japan’s Heisei era

Experience all the food trends of the last 30 years in one place!

At Art Hotel Osaka Bay Tower on April 27 (Saturday) and 28 (Sunday), in the Banquet Room, there will be a “Heisei Gourmet Buffet” with a lineup of foods and desserts that came into fashion over the last 31 years that made up the Heisei era (the reign of the 125th Japanese emperor, from 1989–2019).

With a variety of dishes that will take you back to the “high-class-foods boom,” the “Italian food boom,” the “ethnic food boom,” the “delicious-but-affordable boom,” and so on, not to mention all sorts of desserts that have been exceedingly popular in Japan at different times during Heisei such as tiramisu, panna cotta, pancakes and so on, we have prepared a total of 31 special foods to mark the end of this momentous era.

At the Banquet Room, you can enjoy a special buffet including not only the standard buffet menu but also the “Heisei 31”—31 special menu items to commemorate the end of the current Emperor’s 31-year reign. We also have a buffet corner especially for the kids!

With even more extravagant attractions such as a ninja show, and a robot show to celebrate the great advances in technology during the Heisei era, we are building a name for ourselves as an entertainment restaurant. The Ikura Circus circus school is based in the Osaka Bay Area right near our hotel, and so we can also reproduce their airborne performance.

To see off the Heisei era (1989–2019) with a bang, be it with your family, friends or coworkers, come and enjoy a “Heisei Gourmet Buffet” that reproduces the culinary trends of this 30-year period.
